"Celestial Bodies" $800
These roses are a type of old English rose called “Madame Hardy”. They bloom only once a season but when they do-Wow, it is quite the spectacle! Each little bloom looks like the beautiful rouching on a delicate bridal dress. They are also quite challenging to paint as they are pure white which encouraged me to look more closely to differentiate between the subtle color & tonal changes. With the dramatic lighting in my set-up, they appeared to me to be like little moons or something more heavenly. Hence the title, “Celestial Bodies”.
