"Peonies on Chair" $810
I set up this still life from the vantage point of looking down onto the subject which I feel gives it a more modern interpretation of the traditional still life genre. The peonies are from my garden, both the yellow Bartzella and the magenta Karl Rosenfield varieties. But the drama in this piece comes from how the eye is drawn into the scene by first the curve of the peonies and then the ray of light as it pierces the vase leading us to the delicate blue and white china on the chair.
